The article is devoted to N.A. Semashko, focusing on his role in health care, including children's health care, which was a priority in his work from 1917 to 1949. Nikolai Aleksandrovich Semashko (1874-1949) was a member of the USSR Academy of Medical Sciences (1944) and the RSFSR Academy of Pedagogical Sciences (1945). He was one of the first organizers of the national health care system.

We have attempted to cover such issues as the role of Semashko in the organization of health care.
