Abstract

This article analyses the specific features of the development of medical pedagogy, an area of pedagogy that includes professional pedagogy, and the methods used to teach individual professional disciplines in Russia in the first half of the nineteenth century, as well as the new system of clinical training for future doctors that emerged in the 1830s and was implemented by Nikolai Pirogov, Nikanor Skandovsky, Fyodor Inozemtsev, Alexei Filomafitsky, Grigory Sokolsky and Iosif Varvinsky, graduates of the Professorial Institute in Dorpat.
