Abstract

Dentigerous cysts (DCs) are among the most prominent cysts in the oral and maxillofacial region, frequently discovered by chance in young people. Treatment approaches vary depending on the size of the patient, however, the prognosis and outcomes are generally promising. DCs are frequently associated with impacted teeth, particularly mandibular third molars and maxillary canines, and are usually discovered when they have grown to a large size or become infected, causing substantial absorption and deterioration of the surrounding cortical bone as well as displacement of adjacent teeth
