Literacy Programs to Foster Interest in Reading in Early Childhood Education

Abstract

Reading interest of Indonesian citizens is currently so low. Data from UNESCO shows that Indonesia ranks second lowest in World Literacy, which is 0.001%, meaning that out of 1000 people only 1 person likes to read, inversely proportional to the use of gadgets which ranks fifth in the world including children, due to pandemic conditions that make them interact more with gadgets. Interest in reading needs to be instilled early because it is the best age in the development of one's intelligence and interest
