Abstract

Background: Dental caries is a multifactorial disease, and is the most prevalent chronic disease among children worldwide irrespective of the advancements in oral healthcare.Itsetiology has been advocated to various environmental and genetic factors. Dermatoglyphics is the study of dermal ridges on the palmar and plantar surfaces of hands and feet. It is genetic in nature and is unique to each individual.This study was aimed to find a correlation between dermatoglyphic pattern and dental caries in young children
