Abstract

All long bones in the human body receive blood supply from a nutrient artery, which enters the bone through the nutrient foramen. Typically, this foramen is located away from the bone's growing end [1]. In the tibia, the upper end is the growing end, so the nutrient foramen is  generally directed downward.
