History

Background: Elder abuse is a common problem globally with complex social and medical considerations in which medical professionals are uniquely positioned to identify and intervene. Elder abuse comes in many forms including physical, psychological, and sexual abuse, as well as less obvious forms such as financial exploitation and neglect leading to morbidity and mortality in older adults. The study was conducted to identify the existence of elder abuse among the patients seeking dental treatment and to assess the knowledge of dental surgeons regarding the existence of elder abuse among their patients.
