Corruption continued to flourish as political consensus undermined effective checks and balances on the government due to weak government. There was high rate of unemployment in that youths from Iraq gradually posed major challenges since those who entered thelabourforce yearly exceeded the government’s capacity to employ the population. The demand for reforms intensified which led to demonstrations to overthrow the sectarian government as well as reviewing the constitution. Constant direct interaction amongst activists helped to facilitate high degree of coordination and dialogue around messaging.
