Abstract
The synthesis of 1,3,4-oxadiazole and 1,3,4-thiadiazole derivatives from acid hydrazide derivatives containing creatinine rings is described in the current report. The process of making compounds 1(a-d) began with a reaction between acid hydrazide derivatives and formic acid . The reaction between compounds 1(a-d) and phosphorous pentoxide led to the synthesis of the 1,3,4-oxadiazole compounds 2(a-d), whereas the reaction between compounds 1(a-d) and phosphorous pentasulfide led to the synthesis of the 1,3,4-thiadiazole derivatives 3(a-d). These newly created products were characterized by FT-IR and 1H-NMR for some of them, and the impact of creating derivatives on antioxidant activity was investigated.
