Electronic commerce or e-commerce can provide convenience benefits for the community as consumers and business actors to make it easier to promote products that have an influence on cost and time observations. However, recently there has been a lot of online fraud, one of which is by listing bank accounts, this was apparently suspected by the practice of buying and selling bank accounts on e-commerce platforms such as Tokopedia, Shopee, and Bukalapak. Thus, this research aims to examine the validity of buying and selling bank accounts through electronic media or e-commerce. This research uses normative legal research methods. In the end, the author concludes that the validity of buying and selling bank accounts through electronic media or e-commerce is important to prioritize security, privacy, and legal compliance. We must encourage users to avoid this practice and report suspicious activities to e-commerce platforms and the competent authorities. Furthermore, preventing the practice of buying and selling bank accounts on e-commerce platforms requires cooperation between platforms, users, and other relevant parties.
