The objective of this research is to investigate, examine, analyze, and deeply understand the implementation of management functions in Islamic boarding schools (Pondok Pesantren), the factors hindering the implementation of management functions in Pondok Pesantren, and the solutions to overcome these barriers in achieving the goals of Pondok Pesantren YPI Annur and Pondok Pesantren Nurul Anwar Garut. This research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive-holistic method and a case study analysis. The research findings are as follows: (1) The implementation of management functions in Pesantren Annur and Pesantren Nurul Anwar Garut involves planning, organizing, directing, controlling, allocating human resources, and leadership. (2) With a collaborative approach, strong communication, clear plans, human resource training, effective teams, structured systems and procedures, and the involvement of all relevant parties in decision-making, barriers in management functions can be overcome, and the performance of the Islamic boarding schools can be improved.
