Doctor of Medical Sciences. Dissertation topic: “Formation and development of venereology in Russia (19th-20th centuries)”.
Academic Career
Studied in a clinical residency and as a correspondence graduate student at the department of skin and venereal diseases. Worked for five years as a dermatologist in the clinic of skin and venereal diseases, Saratov Medical Institute, from September 1988 – as an assistant, from 1995 – as associate professor at the Department of Skin and Venereal Diseases, and from October 2009 – as professor.
Currently professor of skin and venereal diseases and professor of public health and healthcare with courses on law and history of medicine at V. I. Razumovsky Saratov State Medical University.

Award for Excellence in Healthcare.
Academic interests
Questions of the history of formation and development of the venereology and venereal service in the Russian Federation; history and development of sanitation service in the Volga region. The history of the pathogenesis, clinical picture, diagnosis and treatment of diffuse connective tissue diseases (scleroderma, lupus erythematosus), allergic.
Professional organizations
Member of the Presidium of the Russian Society of Historians of Medicine.
Scientific publications
Arkady Zavyalov is the author of over 300 scientific works, including 12 books, 18 training manuals for medical students and dermatologists, four patents and 15 innovations for the treatment of chronic, sexually transmitted dermatoses and infections.
